how do we post images to this blog?
I'd like to know how to get the Munsell colors in Photoshop. Is there a guide or something online I can use to find the exact match in RGB?
Another question would be are we shooting for RGB color space or CMYK. I know we are doing motion, so is the end result going to be in RGB? Or are the final outputs going to need to be printed at some time? This will dramatically change the use of color.....
Answer for Steve: work in RGB. Printing is completely optional--every piece you create for this class can exist soley in the computer... ^-^
Answer to Cristina: two ways--1. scan in your book... or 2. download this image and use the color picker (be careful of the blurry bits)
Answer starproject studios: short answer: we will demo in class ^-^
Can we make our images more pictorial as we go? or does it have to remain completely abstract through the entire project?
Answer for erich: Yes—each stage can become more illustrative… for example, in part C, you can add textures to the shapes (in addition to adding more shapes or modifying existing shapes). You just have to make sure that the composition is a natural transition from the prior step... (part A should transition into part B... etc)
Answer starproject studios: long answer: you have to save your image to a file sharing site like flikr or google pages and then post the link to your image.
here is what i have of part 2. just wanting to know if i'm on the right track.

go there, then click on Fast-1-2.png
we only need 1. i assume the ten is the number in the book she told us to change to 1
I wanted to let everyone know that if they are using Adobe Illustrator, they should look in the Help menu about Recolor artwork and Live color. Both these functions are EXTREMLY useful. Here are some links explaining the uses and functions.

Response for joey m. -- can you make the link/picture public?
Comment for erich -- thanks for posting! The orange is perfect. You can have full saturation range in step C.
Comment for steve hubbard--> Thank you for the resources! ^-^
It would be nice to have an outline of all the projects on here for additional reference.
how far can we go with our Analogous color scheme on 4D? for example, could I go from a YR to a BG 10 hue? Im not going to the complement.
For part D, in the 4 sections does their have to be a distinctive difference for each of the styles. for example if I'm using different influences from animators do I have to just use only animator influence or could I look at other influences like Graphic Novels, Comics, or Mangas.
Sorry this is so late notice. Here's the sketch of my design for the last step:
http://dribbleybutt.blogspot.com/2007/10/design.html
My four influences are JMW Turner, German Expressionism, Popeye and Chuck Jones. I used Long-Haired Hare specifically because it has a loud theme.
The circles radiating from the focal point are a sort of abstract version of the Hollywood Bowl getting destroyed in Long-Haired Hare, with Expressionist graphic shapes interweaved in. The JMW Turner influence will be the BG. The Popeye influence are the little spit drop-like things coming off of the focal point.
The color scheme I want is YR,Y,GY,G. Sorry I haven't had a chance to do a color sketch yet, but I also haven't decided where to put down the colors just yet, and I would like help with that if possible.
Thanks!
Charlotte & Julie,
This is Steve Hubbard from your monday class. I was wondering are we supposed to use one hue family for the part a of the next problem or just one flat color? Are we suppose to have a rendered shape, or just have the shape one color over a black background? Or is the background suppose to be a different value of the color from the triad? Thanks!
steve
on panel 2 of problem 2, are we allowed to touch the frame of reference? And which panel are we supposed to start introducing our triad?
Thanks
my work in progress
Problem 2
I still need to add blue to panel 3, I'm planning on giving the bagpipes more depth and putting the blue in their shadows.
I was also wondering if the frame of reference can change from panel to panel, and if not, can my environment for the last panel incorporate both the frame of reference and the black "mount board" space.
Hi. I was wondering if any one knows how to delete part of a stroke around a shape. I can't get it to work for me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
oh yea, i'm working on photoshop. thanks!
For problem 2, I'd like to know if we are required to use texture in the fourth panel if we used texture in the third panel?
From what i know, i don't think that texture is mandatory in any of the steps. Then again, she may have just forgotten to mention it to our class...
just incase you didn't get the email:

If we're doing the vertical one, one it be possible to do 6'x9' or anything bigger than 3x9? I really want to do the vertical because I think it would work best with my design but I'm having a hard time fitting anything in such a narrow space.
